Gail Heriot, a law professor at the University of San Diego, was co-chair of both the campaign for California’s Prop. 209 in 1996 and the successful campaign to prevent its repeal in 2020. Editor of the new book A Dubious Expediency, she offers compelling reasons to reconsider educational policies that discriminate in favor of some students and inevitably against others.
