Great video of Dr. Robert Murphy talking about the myth of so-called “green jobs.” I’ll be interviewing Dr. Murphy on my radio show this Friday, and he’ll be appearing at the North Dakota Policy Council’s Free Market Forum in Bismarck this Saturday (get tickets here at a discount).
Murphy is an economist with the Institute for Energy Research, Senior Fellow of Business and Economic Studies at the Pacific Research Institute, and Author of “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Capitalism” and “The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Great Depression.” And he’s spot-on about these “green jobs.”
The government cannot create jobs. The government cannot do anything without first taking something from someone else. To the extent that the government can employ people or create jobs, it does so at the extent of other people and businesses in the economy.
“Green jobs” are a myth. A fallacy created by people who just want an excuse to grow the government and its power. And the rent-seekers who want to get rich off the government.
