Charles Kesler – Ancient Rome and Modern America

This podcast is the fifth and final in the series of joint PRI and Claremont Institute 40th Anniversary Cruise lectures. The cruise took place in October, started in Barcelona, with stops in Mallorca, Marseille, Monte Carlo, Nice, Florence, and ending in Rome. The theme of the lectures was “The Future of America and the West: Liberty, Sovereignty, and Self-Government.” This lecture titled “Keeping a Republic: Ancient Rome and Modern America,” is by Charles Kesler, Editor of the Claremont Review and a professor at Claremont McKenna College. Prof. Kesler compares and contrasts the Roman Republic with the current state of American democracy. So goes Rome, so goes America? Listen on. Thanks for joining us.
