New from PRI’s Free Cities Center, watch “Colorado Springs:  Letting Freedom Lead the Way,” an hour-long documentary touring one of America’s top cities for freedom – and offering lessons from the city’s pro-freedom government that can be emulated by other cities to improve services and affordability.

Colorado Springs ranked #3 nationwide and #1 in the west in PRI’s “Free Cities Index,” a ranking of America’s 50 largest cities for their pro-growth policies.

“Talking to business owners, civic leaders, community activists and journalists, we found Colorado Springs to be a booming, thriving city thanks to a streamlined regulatory process, pro-business attitude, relatively low tax rates and affordable cost of living,” said Steven Greenhut, Free Cities Center director and the documentary’s host.  “We also found a real sense of community where so many are ready to roll up their sleeves and help others.”

“After watching our documentary, we hope other cities will emulate what’s so great about Colorado Springs by letting freedom, entrepreneurship and market ideas lead the way,” concluded Greenhut.

Among those featured in “Colorado Springs: Letting Freedom Lead the Way” are:

  • Colorado Springs mayor Yemi Mobolade and councilmember Brian Risley
  • Colorado Springs Chamber President and CEO Johnna Reeder Kleymeyer
  • Colorado Springs Gazette editorial page editor Wayne Laugesen
  • Stephen Schuck, chairman of the board, Schuck-Chapman Companies
  • Sean Paige, former Colorado Springs city councilmember and Colorado Springs Gazette editorial page editor
  • Chuck Fowler, community activist
  • Local business owners Kristen Faith Sharpe, Boss Babe Networking and TerryJosiah Sharpe, Anthem Music Enterprises
