What Trump’s health care plan could look like

Trump has a viable plan at his disposal. There’s no need for him to shy away from the details. While his opponent clings to Obamacare’s failures, Trump can offer a patient-first way forward.

Former President Donald Trump has been jeered for saying he has “concepts of a plan” for repealing and replacing Obamacare.

But that’s not quite fair. Trump’s first term in office suggests that he favors market-based reforms that increase patients’ choices.

With just under a month until the election, it’s time to move from concepts to details. Cutting unnecessary Obamacare subsidies, bringing back short-term insurance coverage, expanding access to health savings accounts, and enforcing medical price transparency rules should be at the top of Trump’s healthcare reform agenda.
