Charter schools give schools the flexibility and autonomy to address the needs of individual kids, especially those facing great adversity.

Life Learning Academy is a San Francisco public charter school high school located on Treasure Island that serves at-risk students who typically fall through the cracks in traditional schools – students who are the victims of bullying, violence, and broken homes.

Join PRI and the Young Leaders Circle for a special screening of PRI’s new mini-documentary on Life Learning Academy, “Welcome to Change”.

Our film shows how charter schools like Life Learning Academy can provide hope for a bright future to students who may otherwise have none.

Following the screening, PRI’s Lance Izumi will discuss his new book on charter schools Choosing Diversity.  He will sign copies of his new book afterward (books will be available at the event).
