YLC Event with Damon Dunn: Is Basic Income the Solution for Rising Poverty and Tech Industry Displacement?

June 18, 2019

Many are looking for solutions to alleviate high rates of poverty and homelessness in San Francisco and across California.

Some have advocated basic income as a solution – or having the government give people a fixed monthly stipend with no-strings attached. This approach is advocated by the mayor of Stockton and even some tech CEO’s as a way to address rising poverty and help those left behind by rapid economic change.

Join PRI and the Young Leaders Circle for a discussion of basic income with PRI fellow in business and economics Damon Dunn.

Overcoming significant poverty in his youth, Damon went on to graduate from college, play collegiate and professional football, and become a successful businessman. He will share his compelling life story and discuss some of the themes from a new book he’s writing on basic income.
